"Today's February 10th, human-Earth year of 3059. This is the captain of Spaceshuttle I-287, Mission i-Scapar.
I do not know when and how you would be receiving this, what form you are, fully organic or otherwise. I did encrypt this message to circumvent cyborg surveillance.
I'm still in disbelief this turning to be my last message and most unforeseeably the last recording of any original human form.
I try my best to not make this emotional.
....
How did we get here?
The key to this question is not 'how', but 'we'.
Who were we?
....
I believe the end began with the maturation of the incubator tech. Corporations like Encubae and iWomb had set trends and eventually dominated our lifestyle for the past 500 human years. Before you knew it, human females had finally realized their freedom by unchaining their bodies to be reproduction tools.
They'd struggled for thousands of human years, they'd tried every method possible. Somehow, something to do with the complicated natures of humans, they'd never been able to escape the fate of lying under, being bonded by their flesh and being consumed for their organic ability.
In the end, a swept-through solution came as simple as an i-incubator.
It was a big step, it was progress, a celebration. At least in the beginning.
At about the 15th generation of iWomb, more and more studies emerged connecting the substantial rise of extremism and authoritarianism to the exhaustion and fight over natural resources; to the emergence of militarizing cyborg groups; but most fundamentally, to human's disconnection to motherly love which is selfless, giving and unconditional.
Turned out that love from organic mothers to babies was the one and only core pillar of humanity. The maternity and paternity period of carrying children in organic wombs was the most crucial element of this pillar.
Over the years women did close the pay gap, root out body objectification, take equal control of politics. But generation after generation, when human women and men had gradually absolved themselves of the responsibility of producing and raising up offspring, something at the core of humanity had also shifted.
To start with, humans had never reached a republic union, there had always been a wide divide between democratic and authoritarian sovereignties. The worsening situation on natural resources and the environment foreshadowed the disintegration of numerous unions among democratic sovereignties.
By the end of the 2nd millennium, instead of being blurred out and disappearing as people at the beginning of the 2nd millennium predicted, the concept of 'Nation State' had manifested in its most extreme form human's ever seen. Extreme nationalism started to be a norm not only in authoritarian regimes, but pested like a pandemic in democratic fronts.
The true break came when cyborg tech reached its peak: transferring brain activities over. 'Up to 99.8% of brain function remains', at least that's what they, the scientists and tech associates who were bought by the powerful, told the public. By then, corruption had already reached academia, corporation RnD, even a web of independent institutions.
With the endless efforts of infiltration and instigation from the sinful forever-lasting empires, iron figures now obtained immortality rose from howlings of nationalism. Simultaneously in almost all of the major democracies.
Before we knew it, war was on the horizon. Not between different governing forms, but colonization of the whole solar system by militarized cyborg armies.
Turned out that cyborgs had gradually taken control over almost all of the proto-sovereignties, as well as formed a new alliance. Aiming to exploit all the resources in the solar system and build a bigger cyborg/cylon army to take down the whole Milky Way.
Earth has finally once and for all united, under metals and minerals. Any other form of living has been considered hostile and an obstacle to expansion.
When you put dictators' greed and ego into machines, that surely was the end of any organic living.
Our shuttle belonged to an underground escape effort made by a group of human scientists and industrialists. Over the course of 50 human years, cyborgs eliminated almost 200 of our shuttles.
We were one of the lucky seven who successfully jumped, hid for two years, and planned to meet up in randevu three systems away.
But today is not our day. I believe all the other six have been exposed and wiped out, hence my farewell message.
I will also attach an info patch with my message, therefore whoever you are, may get to know more about us once-lived humans.
Also, consider this a warning of the incoming invasion of cyborg/cylon armies, no matter where you are in the Milky Way.
Good luck my friend. Captain of I-287, Mission i-Scapar, signing off."
